DUTIES: BorgWarner PDS (USA), Inc. seeks a Lead Systems Engineer based out of our 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, Michigan location. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work from the aforementioned address and from home. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned addresses. Note, this position does not require travel.

Responsibilities include delivery of feature on customer projects while establishing the roadmap for the incremental updates to their feature; executing systems engineering principles within the feature; work across engineering competencies to deliver on Systems Engineering commitments; lead feature development with team through development of electrified propulsion systems; lead the technical analysis, trade off studies, design reviews and customer presentations; negotiate the technical requirements, scope and subcontract deliverables for feature; interpret Functional Safety (ISO 26262) requirements for the product development team; support continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methods, and tools; and act as an ambassador for Systems Engineering Principles and best-practices.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering and 60 months of experience in job offered or in a related automotive engineering position. Experience in applying Systems Engineering principles throughout the product life cycle in automotive electronics product development or Power electronics, specifically motor drive inverters. Experience using requirements management methods in a structured tool such as Polarion. Experience using change management methods in a structured tool such as JIRA. Experience using System modeling in SysML or other modeling language. Experience working with ASPICE and ISO 26262. Experience working with Power Electronics hardware and software design.
