The Enterprise Engineering team is seeking a motivated and experienced Lead Systems Engineer (Cloud & Virtualization) to play a critical role in the deployment, management, and optimization of cloud-based and virtual infrastructure. This individual will collaborate across multiple teams, providing technical leadership and mentoring, while contributing to the overall success of the organization.
The ideal candidate is a technically proficient engineer who thrives in dynamic environments, demonstrates a strong ability to innovate, and possesses a passion for continuous learning and improvement. This role also requires the ability to guide and inspire others through effective communication and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily administration of Windows-based operating systems and collaboration platforms such as O365/M365.
- Lead and execute technical projects, including providing expertise in critical maintenance situations.
- Develop, refine, and maintain scripts to drive efficiency, automation, and scalability within the infrastructure.
- Plan, test, and deploy solutions both in our Data Centers and in the Cloud (AWS or other cloud platforms), ensuring alignment with business requirements and optimal architecture.
- Work closely with external vendors and internal teams to provide technical insights and cost estimates for new initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with all Windows operating systems.
- Advanced knowledge of multi-forest Active Directory environments, incl. replication, backup, disaster recovery, DNS, GPO, and related services.
- Expertise in Exchange Online, focusing on transport rules, email flow management, and compliance features like journaling and litigation holds.
- Strong experience with ADFS and Azure Active Directory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Clustering Services (Failover and NLB).
- Strong experience with PKI and Microsoft Certificate Services.
- Hands-on experience with VMware, Citrix, and other virtualization platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting and experience with DSC.
- Solid understanding of networking, virtualization, and storage concepts.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, and knowledge of OS image creation using Packer is a plus.
- Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VCP, CCNA, or ACSA are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- A self-driven mindset with a strong desire for continuous personal and professional development.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, providing critical support as needed.
