Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead sourcing consultant. This is a senior individual contributor role who leads complex, high-impact strategic sourcing and contracting initiatives across Wells Fargo. The role operates with high autonomy and serves as a trusted advisor to Lines of Business, driving enterprise value through category strategy, supplier management, contract negotiation, and risk governance. The role influences outcomes across multiple business units, manages work of significant complexity and risk, and provides guidance and collaborate with less experienced staff without direct people management responsibility.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with Lines of Business to understand requirements and define sourcing strategies aligned to enterprise goals and regulatory expectations.
Design and execute category strategies that deliver value, cost efficiency, and operational effectiveness across business entities. - Lead complex, high-risk contract negotiations and independently set negotiation strategy and outcomes.
- Manage supplier relationships across the full lifecycle, focusing on cost reduction, performance, and business continuity.
- Drive procure-to-pay, e-business, environmental, and strategic sourcing cost-reduction initiatives.
- Customize and negotiate contract language to proactively address legal, regulatory, market, and operational risks.
- Own all phases of negotiations, from preparation through execution and closure.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures through contract reassignment, renegotiation, and risk assessment.
- Review closing agreements to ensure alignment with corporate standards and risk frameworks.
- Lead sourcing initiatives to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies.
- Act as a subject matter expert on contract risk and supplier management for business partners and Contract Analysts.
- Resolve vendor disputes and manage escalations using sound judgment and negotiation expertise.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff while remaining an individual contributor.
- Lead RFP processes in partnership with business units to support short- and long-term objectives.
- Ensure standard contracts reflect corporate, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong relationships with executives, vendors, and third parties to drive savings and service improvements.
- Coordinate sourcing efforts across business entities to ensure alignment and enterprise value.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Sourcing, Procurement experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
