Lead Software Engr

The Lead Software Engineer must partner with domain SMEs to enhance System Testing practices, provide technical leadership and be evangelist of quality. He/She needs to enhance overall product quality, help to implement quality transformation initiatives leveraging contemporary AI tools in system integration testing and enabling AI first framework in product validation. Drive clear vision for AI native testing applicable to Honeywell products. Drive culture of innovation, blend both HON domain content with latest Tech content in Integration Tests. This pivotal role bridges the gap between deep industrial domain expertise and enterprise grade software testing. He/She needs to influence architectural decisions for NPIs serving both upstream and downstream O&G operations. Partner with executive leadership, offering and project teams to champion product quality, drive transformation wrt quality, establish early feedback mechanism. Need to participate in recognized Oil and Gas industry forums and influence the forum in shaping standards related to process control, process optimization and refinery operations.

Quality Leadership

· Establish strategic partnership with involve key stakeholders to enable AI first SDLC / STLC to systematically improve product quality.

· Develop Customer centric product validation partnering with HON project and Customer support teams. This must result in tangible output like reduced defect leakages, enhanced customer satisfaction on quality

· Set untiring quality Entry and Exit Criteria working with product architects and TPOs. Tighten the pipeline quality gates working with DevOps teams.

· Act as a technical evangelist and drive modern software testing practices for both cloud, edge and on prem systems. Influence product architecture decisions.

· Be the innovation champion and creating a culture of Innovation. Conduct Innovation workshops on domain.

· Deploy common Software Testing process, practices across product lines, accelerate the feedback loop on quality

· Sharing the product quality metrics with leadership teams on set frequency. Drive facts based actions to continuously improve product quality.

· Be part of steering team committee to drive quality initiatives, identify key quality KPIs and socialize these KPIs within and across the departments

· Drive Monitoring capabilities to cloud apps; Work with SRE and Enable flawless promotion to production

Domain Integration & Testing

· End-to-End System Integration: Lead end-to-end system integration testing (SIT) for complex and large industrial software products.

· Institutionalise Guardrails: Collaborate with the Honeywell Connected Industrials (HCI) leadership team to define and institutionalise strict system testing entry and exit criteria.

· Refinery Domain Mastery: Translate complex upstream and downstream refinery operations into resilient, software-driven solutions.

Customer Alignment & Collaboration

· Front-End Customer Engagement: Act as the primary technical face for customers, helping them to address their technical / quality concerns.

· Cross-Functional Communication: Partner with cross-functional product management, engineering, and HCI executive leadership to align technical roadmaps with business goals.

· Team Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and guide senior engineers and technical architects to elevate engineering excellence across the organisation.

Required Qualifications

Domain & Technical Expertise

· Industrial Domain: Deep understanding of refinery operations, process optimization, and process control systems.

· Industry Verticals: Comprehensive understanding of engineering workflows across Upstream and Downstream oil and gas sectors.

· Systems Thinking: Sound foundational knowledge of enterprise software systems, cloud-native deployments, and distributed systems.

· HON Tech Evangelist: Has sound understating of Industrial purdue model, HON offerings across the levels and Value added software solutions and services

· Quality Advocate: Proven track record of applying continuous improvement methodologies to software processes.

Software Engineering Capabilities

· SIT Leadership: Expert-level mastery in managing complex, large-scale system integration testing (SIT).

· AI & Automation: Practical understanding of Agentic driven software testing

· Strong understanding of Agile process for Software development and Testing

· Trained in managing quality process for large enterprise software products

Leadership & Soft Skills

· Executive Presence: Exceptional communicator and skilled negotiator capable of influencing both internal stakeholders and external clients.

· Team Developer: Proven capability to coach technical teams through transformative architectural changes.

· Effective negotiator and good communicator, able to break business complex discussion to simple novice engineers understandable language

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with Honeywell’s legacy or current industrial software stacks (e.g., Experion PKS, Honeywell Forge, Industrial Enterprise Apps ).

· Had external view about Honeywell offering, must have implemented HON or Non HON systems to end customers

· Participated in join testing with customers
