The Lead Software Engineer must partner with domain SMEs to enhance System Testing practices, provide technical leadership and be evangelist of quality. He/She needs to enhance overall product quality, help to implement quality transformation initiatives leveraging contemporary AI tools in system integration testing and enabling AI first framework in product validation. Drive clear vision for AI native testing applicable to Honeywell products. Drive culture of innovation, blend both HON domain content with latest Tech content in Integration Tests. This pivotal role bridges the gap between deep industrial domain expertise and enterprise grade software testing. He/She needs to influence architectural decisions for NPIs serving both upstream and downstream O&G operations. Partner with executive leadership, offering and project teams to champion product quality, drive transformation wrt quality, establish early feedback mechanism. Need to participate in recognized Oil and Gas industry forums and influence the forum in shaping standards related to process control, process optimization and refinery operations.
ResponsibilitiesQuality Leadership
· Establish strategic partnership with involve key stakeholders to enable AI first SDLC / STLC to systematically improve product quality.
· Develop Customer centric product validation partnering with HON project and Customer support teams. This must result in tangible output like reduced defect leakages, enhanced customer satisfaction on quality
· Set untiring quality Entry and Exit Criteria working with product architects and TPOs. Tighten the pipeline quality gates working with DevOps teams.
· Act as a technical evangelist and drive modern software testing practices for both cloud, edge and on prem systems. Influence product architecture decisions.
· Be the innovation champion and creating a culture of Innovation. Conduct Innovation workshops on domain.
· Deploy common Software Testing process, practices across product lines, accelerate the feedback loop on quality
· Sharing the product quality metrics with leadership teams on set frequency. Drive facts based actions to continuously improve product quality.
· Be part of steering team committee to drive quality initiatives, identify key quality KPIs and socialize these KPIs within and across the departments
· Drive Monitoring capabilities to cloud apps; Work with SRE and Enable flawless promotion to production
Domain Integration & Testing
· End-to-End System Integration: Lead end-to-end system integration testing (SIT) for complex and large industrial software products.
· Institutionalise Guardrails: Collaborate with the Honeywell Connected Industrials (HCI) leadership team to define and institutionalise strict system testing entry and exit criteria.
· Refinery Domain Mastery: Translate complex upstream and downstream refinery operations into resilient, software-driven solutions.
Customer Alignment & Collaboration
· Front-End Customer Engagement: Act as the primary technical face for customers, helping them to address their technical / quality concerns.
· Cross-Functional Communication: Partner with cross-functional product management, engineering, and HCI executive leadership to align technical roadmaps with business goals.
· Team Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and guide senior engineers and technical architects to elevate engineering excellence across the organisation.
