JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineering

DUTIES: Design, code, test, debug, and document new and existing components to ensure that software meets business, quality, and operational needs. Responsible for the design and development of various initiatives for AT&T’s customer and employee digital experience across our consumer distribution channels. Lead the software product development life cycle from inception to production launch and post-production support. Design modular and scalable web components. Lead large cross-organizational software development projects. Use current web and micro-service technologies. Align development teams on a shared technical direction and partner said teams to elaborate on the solution and its interfaces. Work with portfolio stakeholders and solution and enterprise architects to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers. Build high quality code following unit testing and test-driven development. Establish critical NFRs at the solution level and participate in the definition of others. Participate in code and document reviews. Collaborate with peer organizations, dev ops, and support organizations on technical issues and provide guidance. Interpret and translate business needs into technical requirements and accurate estimates. Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality and performance. Work with teams to troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently. Apply technical expertise to resolve programming and design problems. Focus on scalability, security, and availability of all applications and processes. Contribute to design and architecture in order to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software. Contribute to technical roadmaps and technical debt elimination through balancing time, resources, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirements. Build Java based, high volume, and high transaction e-commerce applications. Create web applications using Java and Spring. Lead software migration and upgrade initiatives of applications on evolving technology stacks. Participate in SDLC activities for software components deployed to on-premise and cloud environments. Contribute to building capability for periodic application performance and provide health monitoring reporting to portfolio leads and stakeholders. Build web applications using Java, Spring and REST. Perform tuning and application monitoring. Work on architecture and design of systems using Micro services architecture. Utilize cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef and Terraform. Utilize build and CICD technologies: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, ECO, Nexus and Sonar. Utilize Unit and Function testing using Junit, Spock, Mockito/JMock, Cucumber, SoapUI and Postman. Utilize Unix, Linux and command line. Utilize Kakfa/ Azure event hub. Utilize Casandra, MongoDB, and Redis/caffeine caching.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation building web applications using Java, Spring and REST; performing tuning and application monitoring; working on architecture and design of systems using Micro services architecture; utilizing cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef and Terraform; utilizing build and CICD technologies: GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, ECO, Nexus and Sonar; utilizing Unit and Function testing using Junit, Spock, Mockito/JMock, Cucumber, SoapUI and Postman; utilizing Unix, Linux and command line; utilizing Kakfa/ Azure event hub; and utilizing Casandra, MongoDB, and Redis/caffeine caching.
