The Role:

As a Lead Software Developer at Datacor, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new features and functionality, diagnosing and resolving software defects, and optimizing code for security, performance, and scalability. You will develop a strong understanding of our customers and the markets we serve, identify opportunities to create value, and enable the development team to deliver high‑quality solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, product development, quality assurance, technical support, and sales and marketing. You will support team members with advanced data acquisition configuration, complex database query design and optimization, and sophisticated report development. Additionally, you will contribute to project documentation, assist with user training, and partner with the technical support team to help resolve urgent production issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of developers to build and maintain products.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps to ensure quality and streamline development and release cycles.
  • Deliver new features and enhancements while troubleshooting and resolving defects to maintain product quality and reliability.
  • Work with business analysts and other stakeholders to understand and implement business requirements.
  • Support the sales team as a technical adviser.
  • Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into clear technical solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement across performance, scalability, and maintainability, including modernization and legacy refactoring recommendations.
  • Be a collaborative team player with a strong problem‑solving mindset, focusing on the what and why before the how, and aligning the team around desired outcomes.
  • Lead design discussions and lead cloud-native solution design aligned with enterprise architecture goals.
  • Provide internal technical training and support to enable team members to complete assigned tasks.
  • Contribute knowledge to documentation for internal and external development initiatives.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Prepare configuration documents and specifications for implementation specialists.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, documentation, and shared engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, Agile).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, statistics, engineering, or information technology.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Demonstrated experience leading design discussions and shipped several large-scale projects with multiple dependencies across teams.
  • Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automatic testing platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in C#/.NET Framework, web application development, and REST APIs.
  • Experience with ReactJS, TypeScript.
  • Experience with Java, C++, Python.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (including agent-based workflows) to improve code quality, and developer productivity.
  • Experience in desktop software development.
  • Experience with advanced SQL and relational databases such as SQL Server and Postgres.

Collaboration Qualifications:

  • Worked closely with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Coordinated with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Worked collaboratively with other developers and stakeholders.
  • Success in coaching and developing others.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to understand, prepare, and communicate technical information to a wide range of audiences.

Preferred Technical Qualifications:

  • Experience with XML, XSL, CSS, HTML.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with data modeling and database design.
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted environments (AWS, Azure) and deployment pipelines.
  • Understanding security and compliance best practices for cloud or on-prem deployments.
  • Experience refactoring legacy code and guiding teams through a modernization effort.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Industry Qualifications:

  • Experience in GMP industries.
  • Familiarity with process automation systems such as Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell, Honeywell, ABB and Siemens.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
