Caterpillar Inc. seeks Lead Software Engineer at its facility located at 5205 N. O'Connor Boulevard, Suite 100, Irving, Texas 75039.
Lead the design, development, testing and deployment of software systems and/or applications. Work on functional lines with individuals assigned in new program development and/or maintenance of Cloud, server and/or distributed computing systems. Oversee and mentor junior developers providing technical assistance and direction as needed, and handle code reviews. Perform all programming, project management, and development assignments. Act as team leader for development and support groups. Provide programming and application/ technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members. Work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that maybe used by one or more applications or systems. Drive application development focused around delivering business valuable features. Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team. Guide the team to develop a structured application/interface code, new program documentation, operations documentation, and user guides in a casual, flexible environment. Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness. Lead development of new functionality and applications on cross-functional Agile project teams. Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results. Perform other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time. Telecommuting: 100% telecommuting allowed.
REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field plus 6 years of experience as a Software Developer, Computer Scientist or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Python; (2) Developing, deploying, and maintaining software in AWS Cloud; (3) Snowflake data warehouse; (4) Writing SQL queries and stored procedures; and (5) CI-CD Pipeline Development.
Summary Pay Range:
$156,998.00 - $ 204,720.00 per year
Compensation and benefits may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market, location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance, and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
