About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies – F5, AVI, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, Sticky Sessions, SSL/TLS, MTLS, Nginx, HAProxy etc
- Expertise in virtualization platforms (Redhat, VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, KVM).
- Experience with enterprise storage solutions (NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, HPE, Ceph).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, Openshift) and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python).
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik).
- Knowledge of identity and access management (Active Directory, LDAP, Okta, IAM).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
- Certifications such as CCNP, VCP, Azure Solutions Architect, or RHCE are highly desirable.
Job Expectations:
- Network Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN solutions. Troubleshoot network performance issues and ensure security best practices.
- Compute Infrastructure: Deploy and manage virtualized and physical servers using VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud platforms (OCP, Azure, GCP). Optimize server performance and automate provisioning.
- Storage Infrastructure: Manage enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage) and ensure high availability, performance, and data protection through backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Cloud & Hybrid Environments: Implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions and integrate with on-premises systems. Optimize cost, security, and performance.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python to automate deployments and configurations.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure infrastructure follows security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements. Implement monitoring, logging, and threat detection tools.
- Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Lead root cause analysis for infrastructure incidents and optimize system performance and reliability.
