Lead Software Engineer
Location: Remote
Salary: $80-120k
Sabot Consulting is seeking a qualified Lead Software Engineer to assist in the design, documentation, & development of the most complex of IT applications. This role will lead in the modification, testing, installation, & implementation of a new Data Warehouse system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from design to testing, ensuring high-quality deliverables. This role will also be responsible for coordinating tasks among team members and reporting project progress to senior leadership
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and refine systems requirements.
- Translate systems requirements into applications prototypes.
- Plan and design systems architecture.
- Write, debug, and maintain code.
- Determine and design application architecture.
- Determine output media/formats.
- Design user interfaces.
- Work with customers to test applications.
- Assure software and systems quality and functionality.
- Integrate hardware and software components.
- Write and maintain program documentation.
- Evaluate new application software technologies.
- Ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices to the delivery of application software services.
Must Have:
- 7 years of FTE experience in electronic data processing, systems analysis, design, and programming.
- 4 years of FTE experience, in a lead capacity, in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in software engineering or IT related field.
- 5 years of FTE experience as a Data Base Administrator (DBA) or as an Application Developer in programming SQL - Teradata and/or DataStage – ETL.
- 4 years FTE experience supporting and maintaining data feeds in/out of a data warehouse.
Nice to Have:
- 5 years of FTE experience as a lead programmer supporting SDLC and/or Agile projects.
- 5 years of FTE experience working with statistical reporting data tools such as SAS for implementing production reports on a Data Warehouse that exceeds fifty (50) terabytes.
- 5 years of FTE experience working in a mainframe environment that includes COBOL, VSAM file structures, JCL and TSO).
