Caterpillar Inc. seeks Lead Software Engineer at its facility located at 5205 N. O'Connor Boulevard, Suite 100, Irving, TX 75039.
Responsible for understanding business requirements for new features implemented within the eCommerce platform (Parts.cat.com and Shop.cat.com) and working with business and business analysts to gather and refine business requirements and recommend changes which could impact business. Perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision. Normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work. Responsible for preparing the technical design documents based on business requirements and design & build new features on HCL Commerce leveraging out of the box components as well as extending/customizing where necessary to meet business needs. Work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls. Leading Development & unit/integration testing of new features for the scrum team as well as performing Code Reviews, performance assessments, architecture discussions. Support QA team for release's quality assurance as a representative from the development team and fix issues that arise from testing. Work independently on complex systems or infrastructure components. Indirectly oversee a pod of four scrum teams to ensure overall code quality and velocity. As well as mentor and assist senior software green engineers and software engineers, providing technical assistance and direction as needed.
REQS: This position requires a Bachelor's, degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field and Eight (8) years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) 8 years of HCL Commerce (previously WCS) software engineering; (2) 8 years of leading other software engineers/developers; (3) 5 years of leading technical team members as their supervisor or manager; (4) 8 years in Java and J2EE software engineering; and (5) 5 years in Agile scrum methodology.

Summary Pay Range:
$149,781.00 - $204,720.00
