The Lead Software Engineer provides technical ownership across design, development, integration, release readiness, production support, and ongoing system improvement while identifying dependencies, risks, and technical tradeoffs early.
The Lead Software Engineer typically provides technical leadership for engineers working within the assigned area and may delegate implementation or workstream leadership to qualified Senior Software Engineers. Depending on organizational needs, the role may also supervise a small number of engineers; however, its primary focus remains technical leadership, application delivery, and subject matter expertise rather than broader personnel or organizational management
