Lead Software Engineer
Overview:
The Platform Services group is responsible for designing, building, and operating the technology that powers Mastercard's market-facing and core technology platforms. This includes foundational services such as the API Gateway, Event Gateway, and File Transfer Services.
Role
We are seeking a Lead Engineer, Software Engineering to join our Pune team, focusing on building and operating our File Transfer Service platform. This platform supports secure, seamless data transfers across Mastercard's global infrastructure-including Mastercard's next-generation switch.
This is an exciting senior engineering role within a globally distributed team, passionate about delivering resilient, scalable solutions to our customers.
• Design, Code, document, test components / subsystems to a world class standard
• Interpret technical specifications to produce detailed design
• Ensure code is easily maintainable and tracked in version control system• Provide input to scheduling of projects
• Ensure tasks get executed on time and to required standards
All about you
:Bachelor's degree Computer Science (or related discipline) • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge/Experience (preferred):
• Web [React/Angular]• Java [Spring, Spring Boot, JPA]
• Database [Oracle, Postgres]
• Discipline of working in a continuous integration, TDD environment
• Experienced in delivering commercial grade software globally
• Has been pro-active in creating better user experience, consumer value proposition
• Knowledgeable about security concerns such as OWASP Top 10 and PCI DSS.
• Understands gaps in knowledge and has ability to source training online
• Strong understanding of distributed system design and architectural patterns

- Knowledge of security standards and concerns (OWASP Top 10, PCI DSS)
- Strong understanding of distributed system design and architectural patterns
