Job Description

 

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to help drive our cloud modernization journey within Credit & Verification Services. As part of a high-performing engineering team, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of the Ascend Cloud Foundation Platform, building and maintaining cloud-native microservices and web applications using modern technologies and architectural practices.

This is a hybrid role requiring travelling to Hyderabad office 40% times per month.

You will be #LI-hybrid based in Hyderabad and reporting to Director Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will Lead software delivery within Agile teams, ensuring high-quality solutions are delivered on time and aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership across architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Own the technical architecture and drive decisions that support performance, reliability, security, and long-term scalability.
  • You will champion engineering best practices, including clean code, coding standards, automation, DevSecOps, and maintainability.
  • Partner with Product, Design, QA, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and guide decisions that align with architectural standards and strategic technology goals.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Ensure clear and effective documentation of code, systems, architecture, and development processes.
  • Drive the development of high-quality, scalable code with a strong focus on minimizing defects.
  • Mentor and support engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MCA, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years leading engineering teams.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through the full software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience providing technical direction, aligning engineering initiatives with business objectives, and supporting team performance and engagement.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams across multiple regions and cultures.
  • Experience delivering secure, mission-critical, high-volume web applications in regulated environments such as Financial Services, Insurance, or similar industries.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • Experience building scalable APIs and services using C#, ASP.NET, .NET 6+, .NET Core, or .NET Framework within microservices or SOA architectures.
  • Experience developing REST, SOAP, and RPC services.
  • Knowledge of software architecture and design principles, including Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, concurrency, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
  • Experience creating and reviewing high-level and low-level solution designs.
  • Experience writing clean, secure, and maintainable code, conducting code reviews, and applying security and vulnerability management practices.
  • Experience using static code analysis and code quality tools.
  • Experience with unit and integration testing using xUnit or NUnit, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), and mocking frameworks.
  • Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, Entity Framework, and data modelling for performance and scalability.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience using Git-based source control tools, including GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and reusing engineering frameworks and shared components.
  • Experience using Generative AI tools to support software development and testing.
  • Experience with Python, Scala, Spark, or other big-data and batch-processing technologies.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native development practices.
  • Experience building event-driven solutions using Kafka, EventBridge, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
