We have an opportunity to impact your career and provide an adventure where you can push the limits of what's possible.
As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the CONSUMER & COMMUNITY BANKING, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain iOS features using Swift (and UIKit/SwiftUI), delivering high-quality user experiences across supported iPhone/iPad devices and iOS versions.
- Set and enforce standards for security, performance, accessibility, stability, and production readiness (telemetry/monitoring, incident prevention).
- Drive CI/CD for Android (build automation, unit/instrumentation/UI tests, static analysis, signing and release workflows) and improve developer productivity.
- Partner with Product, Design, Backend, and QA to deliver end-to-end solutions; manage technical dependencies and provide clear technical direction and estimates.
- Use JPMorganChase-approved AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude AI where approved) to accelerate development/change work (refactoring, test generation, documentation) with rigorous human validation.
- Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
- Integrate with backend services (REST/GraphQL), implement secure authentication flows, and ensure safe handling of local storage and network communications.
- Build and maintain automated tests (unit and UI tests) and improve app stability and performance (crash reduction, responsiveness, battery/memory considerations).
- Drive CI/CD improvements for iOS builds (build automation, lint/static checks, test automation, signing/provisioning, release workflows) and use JP Morgan Chase-approved AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude AI where approved) to accelerate refactoring, test generation, and documentation with rigorous validation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Strong hands-on iOS development experience with Swift and iOS SDK, plus modern architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM/Clean Architecture).
- Experience building UI using UIKit and/or SwiftUI, including accessibility and responsive layout practices.
- Experience with networking, persistence (e.g., Keychain and local storage patterns), and secure coding practices for mobile.
- Demonstrated technical leadership (mentoring, driving standards, owning outcomes) and disciplined use of AI coding assistants (Claude AI or equivalent where approved) with verification.
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
