PROCESS BRIEF
The Buyside Analytics Infrastructure team is currently seeking a talented individual to take on a development role within the team. The team is responsible for the development, enhancement and support of suite of analytics infrastructure products. In this position, the engineer will be participating as a team lead, focused on delivering high quality and performant code and setting architectural and technical direction to Data central team which is application which gives them insight into client portfolios and perform any operations with it
SUB-PROCESS BRIEF
Buy side Engineering is responsible for FactSet’s industry leading Portfolio, Risk, Quantitative, Fixed Income products and Portfolio Services. Buy side Core Analytics Infrastructure team solves problems common across all of analytics so that solutions can be re used
These products are used by thousands of Asset Managers around the world every day to assist with investment decisions, analysis of performance, risk management, and the presentation of results. Analytical Product Engineering’s product space represents a high growth opportunity for FactSet.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new applications and enhancements to existing client portfolio products
- Maintain and fix bugs in existing client portfolio applications
- Work with Product Development to understand project requirements and work with other Analytics Engineers on the technical design of those solutions
- Act as team lead managing both client portfolio teams
- Serve as technical mentor and hands on experience on technologies involved
- Apply best practices to their own work, and propagate this information within the team
- Take code reviews and maintain project and operational documentation
- Think and communicate critically about architecture, design, and best practices
- Collaborate with other engineers and Product Developers in a Scrum Agile environment using Jira and Confluence
- Estimate task sizes and regularly communicate progress in daily standups and biweekly Scrum meetings
- Coordinate with other teams across offices and departments
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 6-10 years of industry experience
- Expertise with JavaScript-based frameworks, especially VueJs, or React
- Experience with NodeJS
- Professional experience working on Linux OS, including Bash scripting, or Perl
- Professional JavaScript experience
- Design experience with multi-tier web architectures
- Experience in front end unit testing frameworks like Jasmine, Jest and e2e testing is required
- Strong front end design and styling skills
- Experience building RESTful services
- Ability to articulate and teach development best practices
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to set own goals based on shifting priorities for self and others
- Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team
- Ability to create and review documentation and test plans
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical people
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent
