Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced and technically strong candidate lead our Devops Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms, container orchestration (especially OpenShift), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive architecture and delivery, while mentoring engineering teams and influencing DevOps best practices at scale
In this role, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-native solutions.
- Oversee deployment and management of applications on OpenShift and other container platforms.
- Define and drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Development teams to ensure secure and scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of cloud infrastructure components from design to production.
- Establish and enforce cloud engineering best practices, CI/CD standards, and operational excellence.
- Drive cost optimization, monitoring, and performance tuning across cloud environments.
- Provide thought leadership on new technologies and evolving cloud capabilities.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate cloud toolsets and platforms for integration.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Deep hands-on experience in Red Hat OpenShift (including deployment, administration, and tuning).
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes, containerization, and microservices.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and governance in the cloud.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in AWS, Azure, or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
- Familiarity with GitOps practices and tools (e.g., Argo CD, Flux).
- Exposure to FinOps practices for cloud cost management.
