The Impact you will have in this role:

They should also be accountable for the development of automation scripts in Selenium java and writing SQL queries.

  • Raise the quality bar across the SDLC — You will embed quality earlier and deeper into delivery, shifting testing left and enabling faster, more confident releases without compromising stability.
  • Accelerate delivery through AI-augmented testing — By leveraging AI for test generation, self-healing UI locators, and reusable automation assets, you'll reduce manual test effort, shorten regression cycles, and free the team to focus on higher-value work.
  • De-risk a major platform modernization — Your validation of Oracle-to-PostgreSQL database migrations will ensure data integrity and functional parity as the platform modernizes, protecting the business from migration-related regressions.
  • Elevate the engineering team — Through technical leadership and mentorship, you'll uplift the QA engineering team's skills, establish automation best practices, and create a durable culture of quality ownership.
  • Enable full-stack confidence — By driving coverage across UI, API, database, and integration layers of a multi-service containerized architecture, you'll give stakeholders end-to-end assurance that the platform behaves correctly at every tier.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of scalable test automation solutions for mission-critical financial market applications, ensuring high quality, reliability, and operational resilience.
  • Drive automation strategy across UI, API, database, and integration testing domains while leveraging AI-enabled testing practices to improve efficiency and coverage.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to QA engineers, promoting engineering excellence, best practices, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support cloud modernization, database migration initiatives, and delivery of high-quality software across distributed, containerized environments.

Qualifications:

  • Min 6 yrs of relevant experience
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or technical field and/or equivalent experience.

Talents Needed for Success:

  • 7+ years of hands-on test automation engineering, ideally within complex, large-scale enterprise or financial platforms.
  • Deep expertise in keyword-driven / data-driven automation frameworks, including designing, extending, and maintaining reusable framework components.
  • Strong programming skills in a language such as Python, Java, or C# for building robust, maintainable automation.
  • Proven experience automating across multiple layers — UI, REST/SOAP API, database, and end-to-end integration testing.
  • Solid database and SQL proficiency, with practical experience validating data across relational systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and testing data migrations.
  • Working knowledge of containerized, microservices architectures (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes) and testing in distributed, multi-service environments.
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab) for continuous testing.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, self-healing locators, or intelligent test maintenance is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring QA engineers and setting technical direction for a testing practice.
  • Capital markets, post-trade, or broader financial services domain experience is highly desirable.
  • Technical leadership — Able to set the automation strategy, make sound architectural decisions, and guide a team toward a shared quality vision.
  • Quality-first mindset — Instinctively thinks about edge cases, risk, and end-user impact, and champions quality as a shared responsibility.
  • Mentorship and collaboration — Genuinely invests in growing others, gives constructive feedback, and works effectively across development, product, and DevOps teams.
  • Problem-solving and analytical rigor — Diagnoses complex, multi-service failures methodically and separates signal from noise in flaky or intermittent issues.
  • Adaptability and curiosity — Embraces emerging tools (especially AI) and continuously modernizes the testing approach rather than defending the status quo.
  • Clear communication — Translates technical risk and quality metrics into language that resonates with both engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Ownership and accountability — Takes end-to-end responsibility for quality outcomes and proactively surfaces risks before they reach production.
  • Attention to detail — Balances big-picture strategy with the precision needed to catch subtle data, integration, or regression defects.
