The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Front-End Automation Lead to spearhead our test automation efforts. As the Automation Lead, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a robust automation framework for our front-end applications that supports web, mobile and other devices. You will collaborate closely with development, product, and QA teams to ensure the highest quality and performance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement an efficient and scalable automation strategy for front-end automation that supports web, mobile and other devices using WebdriverIO and other modern tools.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and extensible automation frameworks for front-end applications
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure automation coverage aligns with business goals.
- Perform code reviews of automation scripts and provide mentorship to junior QA engineers in best practices for automation.
- Collaborate with performance engineers to create scripts for front-end performance testing covering different web vitals
- Ensure applications are fully tested across all relevant browsers, devices, platforms etc via E2E automated tests.
- Run tests in parallel to optimize time and resource utilization.
- Integrate automated test suites into the CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous testing during development cycles.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in test automation with at least 3+ years in WebdriverIO.
- Expertise in WebdriverIO, with knowledge of other automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright being a plus.
- Experience in building configurable, extensible frameworks with support for parallel execution and cross-platform/cross-browser/devices compatibility.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for writing test scripts.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React js and browser-specific behavior.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automation tests into continuous delivery environments.
- Familiarity with front-end performance testing tools.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud-based cross-browser testing platforms like BrowserStack.
- Exposure to API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured).
- Exposure to Web Vitals to measure performance.
- Exposure of Spinnaker, github Actions
- Familiarity with security testing strategies for front end applications
