Lead Quality Engineer – Software Test

The Allegion Quality Engineering Team is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to collaborate with one of our custom software product portfolios for the Overtur program and help achieve our mission to create greater satisfaction and trust in Allegion Software.

As a Lead Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead the Quality efforts for digital products in our custom software portfolio. We are seeking a Lead Quality Engineer who is passionate about the latest Quality methodologies and transfer this knowledge to the team. You will be directly responsible for the overall quality of the team’s work and product quality. You will help set strategies for new testing methodologies & processes in alignment with business initiatives. You will also be responsible for developing and enabling the team to execute comprehensive test automation code and test cases for new and existing features of Allegion products. You will consider the needs of the product teams and strive to help the team deliver the highest quality product.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide quality leadership at the product team level.
  • Passion for quality engineering, willingness to explore and adopt emerging test automation toolsets for practical business purposes.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to coach and mentor quality automation engineers.
  • Ability to maintain an upbeat positive attitude while working with an agile team to develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Skilled at communicating with, presenting to, and influencing internal customers.
  • Work closely with product teams and product management to understand requirements and translate them into test cases that capture all test conditions.
  • Expertise in testing concepts, test processes, test design skills, and testing techniques.
  • Specific duties and responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and executing test plans and test cases against our software platforms, estimating test efforts, analyzing, and communicating test results, Peer reviews, defect tracking, and participating in day-to-day Quality Engineering Activities. 
  • Provide enterprise-level guidance on test framework architecture, test automation, CI/CD integration, and DevOps principles related to software testing COTS/custom web solutions.
  • Effective in written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts enabling teams to be successful.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, negotiate and work with cross-functional teams. Flexibility to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to think on your feet, assess problems, and lead others to find well-thought-out solutions.
  • Hands on experience in test automation scripting using GUI based automation tools.
  • Experience with integrated test environments.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Experience in open-source frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Jest), API testing, and Testing Grids (BrowserStack), or equivalent.
  • Experience working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, in a global work environment.
  • Expert in Open-source test frameworks, Testing grids
  • Exposure to HTML and CSS
  • Exposure to NodeJS, Typescript, and jQuery
