F&G is looking to hire for a Lead, QA Analyst
The Lead QA Analyst/Agile Lead is a blended role that will lead testing for complex projects or programs and oversee all aspects of the test deliverables associated with corporate project initiatives, as well as work directly with Scrum and/or Kanban teams, Agile Coaches and Product Owners to help teams adopt agile practices, remove impediments, and improve transparency. In addition, this role will lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the test deliverables associated with corporate project initiatives
- Lead testing activities for complex projects or programs, across multiple teams and business units. These activities include Test Planning, Test Design and Execution, and Test Management and Communication.
- Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers.
- Oversee all aspects of the test deliverables associated with corporate project initiatives
- Ensure timely resolution or response and follow up on requests to minimize impact on business partners and/or project teams.
- Coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and obtain sign off for corporate projects and releases.
- Responsible for creation of test plan for both internal development and 3rd party vendor development and obtain sign off for corporate projects and releases.
- Provide subject matter expertise through responding to questions and concerns from business and IT partners in a professional manner.
- Understand, build, update and maintain procedural documentation as appropriate.
- Use monitoring, scheduling, and system performance tools to improve operational efficiency, maintain system health and identify issues to meet Service Level Agreements.
- Lead quality assurance efforts by actively leading or participating as a member of cross-functional improvement teams.
- Participate in the continuous expansion and enhancement of the F&G Testing Center of Excellence
- Guides Agile concepts and mindset among team members to ensure alignment and effective utilization
- Apply and champion Agile concepts and frameworks to elevate Scrum/Kanban and team(s) ability to continuously deliver, increase velocity and reduce delivery risk
- Responsible for ensuring Scrum/Kanban is understood and applied
- Coaches the team to higher performance using appropriate coaching techniques and creating a culture of continuous improvement
- Facilitates and supports Scrum/Kanban events effectively which may include Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Reviews/Demos and Retrospectives
- Supports and educates the Product Owners on maximizing the value of the product and team via effective product backlog management
- Removes impediments and protects the team from outside interruptions
- Conducts team agile health assessments and leverage data-driven metrics to identify areas of improvement
Experience & Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8-9 years of work experience in Quality Assurance
- Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools
- Experience in documenting and analyzing software test metrics
- Ability to translate use cases and/or technical specifications into test cases
- Ability to understand technical specifications
- Scrum Master Certification A-CSM, PSM III or equivalent
4-7 years’ in a Scrum Master role for a team that was diligently applying Agile practices
- 4-7 years’ experience in supporting cross-functional teams and peer leadership
- Experience within information technology integrations, development processes, CI/CD and integration architectures
- Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) knowledge a plus
- Business Process Engineering, Six Sigma or Lean experience a plus
- Knowledge of Financial Services industry a plus
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in an IT ecosystem (third party vendors, software suppliers, SaaS, PaaS)
- Prior leadership experience
- Previous experience with life and annuity products
- Experience with testing automation

- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, with proven ability to build strong relationships and deliver effective consulting and coaching
- High degree of integrity and ability to handle confidential matters and sensitive situations with discretion
- Ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with high level of attention to detail
