Roles and Responsibilities
- Take care of project deliverables, co-ordinate with multiple stake holders, detailed engineering, controls software validation, commissioning support for Solar, Battery energy storage system (BESS) & Hybrid Plant Control System and Inverter.
- Support on-site startup and integration of various systems to our hardware and software.
- Track overall status of project deliverables for the assigned projects to meet goals of the control team.
- Have close interaction with Project Manager, customers to drive requirements and customer satisfaction.
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with customers with confidence and clarity.
- Develop, improve, and administer customer overview and operational training material for the control system.
- Work across the Hybrid engineering and services organizations to prepare documentation for installation, commissioning, and operations for use by internal GE employees and our customers.
- Work in a team to design, develop and deploy the control hardware configuration for each project and design the communication network, including but not limited to DI/DO, Ethernet, FO etc.
- Support problem identification and resolution of new and installed products.
- Drive performance and reliability enhancements back to the product
- Participate actively in controls design, Software code reviews, testing and software validation.
- Work on standardization of controls project execution, software validation, implementation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master degree in Electrical /Electronics/Instrumentation/Controls Engineering / Science or in STEM from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience with detailed engineering, EPC, Project execution, Control software design/development/implementation.
Desired Characteristics
- Strong experience in GE’s MarkVIe product & tools like GE’s Toolbox ST, Workstation ST, Cimplicity software (SCADA), P80i software, HDM & Simulink.
- Demonstrated Software expertise in Solar, Energy storage, Plant level controls, validation and verification, systems integration, advanced controls, or related technologies.
- Experience in leading large scale engineering projects, EPC, detailed engineering, Simulation models, Product design, site experience.
- Familiarity with standard industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, EGD, Profibus & CAN bus, IEC 61850, IEC 104 etc.
- Experience in various countries grid code compliance
- Worked in any power generation industry like renewable, thermal, nuclear etc.
- Strong experience in communication networks equipment’s functionality, Selection, Software features and Hardware & Cyber security.
- Demonstrated implementation of controls or systems integration in products and field engineering experience.
- Ability to summarize and communicate complex technical information
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills
