Responsibilities:
- Accountable for driving the product roadmap for multi-year, multi-million-dollar digital platform and applications development
- Responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the Development Team
- Create, maintain, and prioritize the Product Backlog according to business value for the life of the product
- Communicate Product Backlog priorities to development teams
- Act as a Key decision-maker regarding what features the product will have
- Define the acceptance criteria of Epics and features for the product area
- Collaborate with Product owners, Architects, Business Analysts and other Product Managers to deliver the required features on time
- Work closely with key stakeholders throughout the organization and ensure alignment with other programs
- Participate/drive decision making on release dates and content
- Represent the customers & stakeholders, interfacing and engaging with them as needed
- Inspect the product progress and accept or reject the delivery of Epics and Features
- Communicate the releases of features to stakeholders and customers
- Be a champion for the agile community and help to further the community within the organization
- Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, information systems or communications or a related field
- At least 4 years of experience as a Product Manager and 2+ years experience as a Technical Product Owner.
- Over 10 years of overall experience working with technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to ensure a team's success
- Strong accountability, planning, organization, and teamwork skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience managing projects using Agile software tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Team Services, Rally, and Aha 10.
- Product Manager/Owner certification is preferred
- Experience working with onshore/offshore team models
- Experience working with UX designers and tools such as Figma is preferred
Top candidates will also possess these Qualifications:
- Domain expertise in Telemetry data and industrial Equipment.
- Experience with cloud technologies and working with large data
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to handle sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations
