The Lead Product Manager understands, develops, delivers, and manages compliance and health data exchange products that support Humana's interoperability strategy and regulatory obligations. The Lead Product Manager works on problems of diverse scope and complexity and serves as a key liaison between business, technology, industry stakeholders, and external partners to advance Humana's healthcare interoperability vision.

The Lead Product Manager leads various phases of the product lifecycle, from strategy and discovery to supervision of the delivery and ongoing optimization, with a focus on interoperability compliance, regulatory compliance, and ecosystem partnerships. This role partners closely with the Director of Product Management, Product Owners, IT, Architecture, Regulatory Compliance, and business leaders to develop products and capabilities that improve healthcare data exchange and support Humana's interoperability compliance landscape.

The Lead Product Manager participates in industry and regulatory workgroups, monitors emerging healthcare regulations and standards, performs impact assessments, and develops recommendations to ensure Humana remains a leader in interoperability and health technology innovation. This role communicates product vision, roadmap progress, risks, dependencies, and business value to senior leadership while influencing stakeholders across the enterprise and external healthcare ecosystem.

Exercises independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues regarding product strategy, regulatory compliance, partner engagement, and product delivery. Works under minimal supervision and leverages analytical thinking and business acumen to determine the best course of action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Director and leadership team to align product outcomes with portfolio vision, roadmap priorities, and enterprise strategy.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and delivery teams to provide business context and ensure successful execution of product initiatives.
  • Participate in and lead industry workgroups, standards organizations, and healthcare interoperability initiatives.
  • Monitor current and proposed healthcare regulations and interoperability requirements to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Conduct impact assessments of regulatory and industry changes and communicate findings to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop relationships with external partners, vendors, healthcare organizations, and industry stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and pilot opportunities.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions and provide recommendations to leadership on strategic technology investments.
  • Define and document business requirements, product vision, success metrics, and implementation approaches.
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, risks, and value realization to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across business, operational, compliance, and technology teams to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience developing executive presentations, product documentation, business cases, status reports, and stakeholder communications.
  • Mentor Product Managers and Product Owners in healthcare interoperability, regulatory compliance, and product management disciplines to build organizational expertise and improve delivery outcomes.
  • Ensure product documentation, requirements, and business artifacts remain current and accurate.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Healthcare Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving business and technology teams.
  • Experience working within healthcare payer, provider, healthcare technology, or interoperability-related environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and frameworks, including APIs, FHIR, HL7, or related healthcare data exchange technologies.
  • Experience translating business needs into product requirements and roadmap priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions across multiple business and technology stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with Product Owners and delivery teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess business, operational, technical, and regulatory impacts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, or related field.
  • SAFe Agile certification, Product Management certification, or equivalent Agile credentials.
  • Experience with CMS interoperability regulations, Patient Access APIs, Provider Directory APIs, Prior Authorization APIs, Payer-to-Payer Exchange, TEFCA, or USCDI.
  • Experience representing an organization in healthcare industry forums, standards organizations, or interoperability workgroups.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data exchange, provider ecosystems, digital health platforms, and health information networks.
  • Experience evaluating third-party vendors and managing strategic technology partnerships.
  • Familiarity with Humana Information Technology (HIT), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), or healthcare integration technologies.
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps (ADO) and Agile product management practices.

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$126,300 - $173,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
