The Role:
Our site in San Luis Obispo, California is seeking a Product Manager for Semiconductor Gas Purification Systems to join our team. The Product Manager is responsible for defining, developing, and executing product strategies that enable ultra-high purity gas delivery for semiconductor manufacturing. This role bridges engineering, commercial, and customer-facing functions to deliver differentiated purification solutions that meet stringent process requirements at leading-edge fabs.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical acumen in semiconductor processes and gas handling, combined with business leadership to drive product lifecycle success, from concept through commercialization. Experience managing product lifecycles, leading functional teams, and driving commercial wins to fuel profitable growth is required.
With the fast pace of innovations, this candidate must be able to manage multiple, diverse, and complex projects with changing scopes and customer timelines. An ideal candidate must be able to adapt to changing market conditions quickly and often. We expect that the candidate will collaborate, share and be ready to learn in a team that partners closely with its customers.
What You’ll Do:
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define and execute product roadmap for gas purification technologies (e.g., purifier systems, filters, getters, point-of-use solutions).
Identify market opportunities driven by semiconductor technology inflections (e.g., EUV, advanced nodes, specialty gases).
Develop value propositions aligned with customer pain points such as contamination control, yield improvement, and cost of ownership.
Conduct competitive analysis and position products for differentiation.
Market & Customer Engagement
Collaborate with key semiconductor customers (fabs, OEMs, tool makers) to understand evolving purity requirements.
Gather voice-of-customer (VOC) insights and translate into product requirements.
Support strategic account engagements, including technical presentations and roadmap alignment.
Monitor industry trends (device scaling, materials innovation, sustainability requirements).
Product Development & Lifecycle Management
Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, quality, supply chain) to deliver new product introductions (NPI).
Define product specifications, performance targets, and validation criteria.
Manage full product lifecycle, including enhancements, cost reduction, and phase-out strategies.
Manage the customer facing PCN (Product Change Notification) process.
Ensure compliance with semiconductor standards and safety requirements.
Commercial Execution
Partner with sales and marketing to drive revenue growth and market share.
Develop pricing strategies and business cases for new products.
Support go-to-market strategies including product launches, training, and collateral development.
Track product performance (revenue, margins, adoption rates) and adjust strategy accordingly.
Maintaining product line marketing collateral to support field service and sales personnel.
Technical Leadership
Maintain deep understanding of:
Gas purification mechanisms (adsorption, catalytic purification, getters, membranes)
Contamination sources (moisture, oxygen, hydrocarbons, metallic impurities)
Semiconductor process requirements (CVD, ALD, etch, lithography)
Act as the internal and external subject matter expert (SME) for purification technologies.
What We Seek:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (required)
MBA or advanced technical degree (preferred)
