ECP is a market-leading SaaS solution that enables senior living communities to better care for their residents. ECP is used in over 8,000 communities. We're looking to further expand by increasing the number of customers that use our software and increasing the scope of how we serve our customers by developing and releasing new products.
Senior living is deeply under-penetrated with software and ECP is one of the largest and fastest-growing software companies in the industry. We recently raised a growth round of equity to reinvest in our product, technology, and go-to-market. Our mission is to build world-class software that improves the quality of life for seniors and improves clinical, business, compliance, and operational performance for our customers.
Role OverviewECP is hiring a Lead Product Designer to lead our product experience and be a true thought partner to product and engineering leadership. Reporting to our VP of Product, you'll shape the experience across our full suite (clinical, CRM and billing), modernizing what customers use today and defining what we build next. Our goal is the best-looking, easiest-to-use software in senior living, with AI that takes work off the plates of community staff and operators.
This is a hands-on IC role. You'll start as our sole designer, with the opportunity to grow into leading design as the team expands. We want someone who will obsess over our product, our industry, our customers and their pain points.
Who You'll Design ForOur users run senior living communities: caregivers, nurses, med techs, sales and leasing teams, business office staff and executive directors. They work long, busy shifts, often on shared devices, and staff turnover means many are new to the job. Every extra click or confusing screen costs them time they'd rather spend with residents.
That's why ease of use is non-negotiable: workflows should take as few steps as possible and be learnable without training.
Responsibilities- Design vision. Set and own the design vision across the product suite, establish process and quality standards, and be the voice of the user in roadmap conversations. Mentor designers as the team grows.
- Business impact. Tie design work to business outcomes such as adoption, customer satisfaction and sales win rates. Define how success is measured and use the results to guide what you design next.
- Craft and simplicity. Own the visual direction that makes us the best-looking software in our market. Remove steps, reduce clicks and push back on complexity users don't need. Design experiences that work seamlessly across desktop, tablet and mobile.
- AI feature design. Lead AI-powered features from concept through launch. Define how users interact with AI and how they review, trust and correct its outputs. Look for places where AI can remove work entirely, not just assist with it.
- Design system. Build and evolve a design system, starting where it has the most impact, and drive adoption with engineering so our products look and behave consistently. Set it up in Claude so PMs can build on-brand prototypes themselves.
- Customer research. Join customer calls, visit communities, shadow staff on shift and run usability tests. Keep personas current and track competitor and AI trends.
- Execution and collaboration. Deliver wireframes, mockups and working prototypes built in code with AI tools, provide development-ready specs, and resolve tradeoffs directly with PMs and engineering. Present and defend decisions with evidence.
- Accessibility. Set accessibility standards aligned to WCAG and champion them with engineering.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product or UX design experience, including leading design for a product area end to end, mentoring other designers and presenting confidently to leadership, and tying design decisions to measurable business outcomes.
- A portfolio showing exceptional visual and interaction craft, including examples of simplifying complex workflows and designing responsive experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile.
- Experience shipping AI-powered features that real users rely on, with a solid grasp of AI UX patterns (setting expectations, showing sources, handling errors, keeping humans in control).
- Experience building or significantly evolving a design system and driving adoption, including setting it up in Claude so PMs can build with it.
- Expert in Figma and fluent in using Claude to iterate quickly, including building working prototypes in code that give engineering something functional, not just a mockup.
- Hands-on user research and usability testing.
- Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards, with experience tracking and fixing violations.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience designing healthcare, senior living or other regulated-industry software, especially AI features where accuracy and trust matter.
- Experience supporting multiple product lines, including scaling a design system across them.
- Experience as an early or sole designer, or building a design team.
- Bachelor's degree in design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

What We Do
ECP is a cloud-based software program for the senior living industry. The program has many unique features including electronic medication administration record (eMAR) that interfaces with pharmacies to sync med orders and reorder meds. It also has a complete care management program including integrated assessments, care plan wizard, point of care charting, alerts and reminders including emails and text messages, state mandated reports, marketing and billing. ECP is touch screen friendly and can be used on PC, Mac, netbooks, tablet, and iPad operating systems. ECP supports thousands of communities world-wide. ECP easily interfaces with LTC pharmacies. Resident information and medication orders are synced with the pharmacy improving communication and reducing medication administration errors. ECP is priced as a SAAS (software as a service) model reducing start-up costs for senior living communities. Users pay only for their current active occupancy level. ECP's customized settings meet the unique need of each company without custom programming. ECP allows quick creation of custom assessments and care plan libraries that automatically generate daily tasks for point of care charting.
