Role Summary

Join a team responsible for modeling, replicating, and implementing portfolio managers' investment ideas across related funds and client portfolios while ensuring adherence to client guidelines and projected cash flow requirements.

The Lead Portfolio Investment Analyst (PIA) resides within the Investment and Trading Solutions Group and is a member of the Global Trading team. The Lead PIA works directly alongside Equity and Multi-Asset portfolio managers and traders and serves as a senior technical expert and team leader, leveraging deep portfolio modeling expertise to support investment implementation, drive process improvements, and influence key stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee investment activities across complex portfolios, including account customization, interpretation of investment guidelines, compliance issue resolution, and performance oversight.
  • Serve as an escalation point for portfolio modeling issues and partner with portfolio managers, traders, and internal business partners to improve processes, strategy execution, and operational effectiveness.
  • Measure strategy performance and collaborate with global trading partners to ensure seamless implementation of investment and trading strategies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on portfolio modeling, supporting investment, client service, and operations stakeholders and participating in client presentations or due diligence activities as needed.
  • Lead projects that enhance research, development, collaboration, and the continued expansion of portfolio modeling capabilities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced associates, influence change across teams, and contribute to recruiting, development, and talent initiatives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of T. Rowe Price or related industry experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of investments, portfolio construction, stock trading, derivatives, and multiple asset classes.
  • Ability to quickly process information, draw relevant conclusions, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology and data-driven approaches to support investment analysis and decision-making.
Preferred:
  • Progress toward or completion of CFA, FRM, CAIA, MBA, or other advanced finance-related credentials.
  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert for portfolio modeling, investment implementation, or portfolio construction activities.
  • Experience leading projects, implementing process improvements, and influencing stakeholders across functions.
  • Experience working with global trading partners and multi-asset investment strategies.

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

$110,000.00-$140,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$110,000.00-$140,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$110,000.00-$140,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the roleBase salary is only one component of our total compensation packageEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
