About the Role

Lead Operations Specialist

The Lead Operations Specialist role is one that supports oversight of patient care and operational excellence in our business. This role is unique in its ability to lead the impact patient outcomes while driving process improvements and team performance. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support team members in daily operations, including complex case resolution and escalations
  • Lead team meetings and facilitate onboarding and ongoing training to support staff development
  • Monitor performance metrics and productivity, providing coaching, feedback, and continuous improvement guidance
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex customer issues and regulatory compliance questions
  • Drive process improvements and workflow optimization to enhance efficiency and service quality
  • Partner with leadership on staffing, scheduling, and resource planning
  • Maintain expertise in Medicare guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory changes to guide team decision-making
  • Analyze and report on team performance, operational trends, and key metrics
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and company policies, including completion of required training and adherence to the AdaptHealth Compliance Program
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma, Associate’s degree in relatable field, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or equivalent work experience required
  • One (1) year of relatable work experience required
  • Four (4) years of exact or comparable work experience working within a healthcare or medical services organization
  • Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred but not required
  • Experience within a healthcare organization, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare-certified environment is a plus but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office and healthcare systems are a plus
  • Comfort learning new technologies and navigating multiple systems
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and directives
