- We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer with expertise in Operations Research (OR) to design and build scalable optimization solutions. This role combines strong engineering fundamentals with advanced analytical modeling to solve complex business problems using optimization techniques, data engineering, and AI-driven approaches.
- Lead the design and development of optimization and decisioning systems using OR techniques (LP, MIP, heuristics, metaheuristics).
- Build scalable backend systems using Python for high-performance data processing and solver integrations.
- Develop and manage data pipelines leveraging Snowflake and other modern data platforms.
- Design and optimize data models using MongoDB and/or other NoSQL databases.
- Integrate AI/ML models into decision systems for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Drive architecture decisions ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate business problems into mathematical models.
- Mentor engineers and enforce best practices in coding, testing, and system design.
- Improve solver performance and efficiency for large-scale workloads.
- Own end-to-end delivery including design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- 7+ years of total experience in OR with Strong experience in Python development (data structures, concurrency, performance tuning).
- Solid background in Operations Research / Optimization:
- Linear Programming (LP), Mixed Integer Programming (MIP)
- Heuristics / Metaheuristics
- Constraint programming (good to have)
- Hands-on experience with OR tools like Gurobi / CPLEX / OR-Tools.
- Experience working with Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
- Proficiency in MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Experience integrating AI/ML models into production systems.
- Strong system design and distributed systems knowledge.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large-scale optimization problems (supply chain, logistics, scheduling, resource allocation).
- Exposure to real-time decision systems / low-latency architectures.
- Knowledge of data pipelines, ETL, and streaming systems.
