Overview

TNS is looking for a passionate, motivated NMS/Observability Lead to join our Observability capability. Responsibilities will be focused around on reimagining and transforming Monitoring and Event Management tooling and processes for the Enterprise.
This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems by providing deep visibility into infrastructure and application behavior. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define observability standards and drive adoption of best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Network Monitoring(NMS) Platform

  • Establish guiding principles for Monitoring and Observability around NMS

  • Lead the investigation, due diligence, and design to revolutionize the NMS platform at TNS through intelligent integration of tools and data to benefit IT Service Management (ITSM) and Incident Management backed by Automation.

  • Document As-Is diagrams of current state tools, monitoring, and event management data flows.  Work with and Collaborate with Architecture Teams to Design and Deliver.

  • Experience with integrating solutions in a multi-vendor environment, including SaaS environments.

  • Complete development life cycle experience from design through implementation.

  • Experience with command-line interfaces, graphical user interfaces, API development and integration, statistical monitoring, and analysis.

  • Demonstrable record of success designing, delivering and supporting enterprise class, scalable, high availability observability solutions.

  • Working knowledge of networking practices and automation development.

  • Self-motivated; Able to work independently or within a team environment, with minimum instruction from management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 10-15+ years of experience running and maintaining Monitoring Platforms like Netreo, Solarwinds, Nagios, LogicMonitor etc.
  • 10+ years of experience working with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms like BMC Remedy, BMC Helix, ServiceNow.
  • 8+ years of extensive hands-on experience with the configuration, debugging, and problem resolution of complex NMS platforms
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on knowledge sharing and mentorship.
  • Certified in applicable NMS platform technologies

Optional Desired Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, Splunk Observability Cloud (O11y), Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog
  • Strong scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

Education and Certifications:

  • B.S. (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering. MS preferred.
