About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Risk Analytics Consultant (Lead Mortgage Valuation and Cash Flow Analytic) to join the Consumer Banking and Lending Finance team.
The role supports portfolio valuation, profitability measurement, forecasting, and business performance analytics across mortgage and consumer lending portfolios.
This position will also play a key role in helping establish future Home Equity portfolio analytics, valuation, reporting, and securitization capabilities as the business expands.
The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and capital markets skills with the ability to build new frameworks, reporting, and performance measurement capabilities that support strategic growth initiatives.
This is not a pure model-development role. The successful candidate will combine strong mortgage product and secondary-market knowledge with the ability to apply cash flow, behavior, valuation, and profitability analytics to business and risk decisions across mortgage originations and portfolios.

In this role, you will:
  • Analyze and lead the portfolio performance, valuation, cash flows, forecasting, and profitability across mortgage and consumer lending portfolios while helping develop future Home Equity analytics and securitization capabilities.
  • Evaluate mortgage pricing and product economics, including note rate versus par rate and price, points and lender credits, fixed-rate versus adjustable-rate mortgages, and 30-, 45-, and 60-day lock terms.
  • Model origination behavior using pull-through assumptions that estimate the probability of locked loan funds, and assess fallout drivers such as rate movements relative to the lock rate and borrower characteristics.
  • Decompose expected profitability into revenue components, including Net Interest Margin and fee income, and cost components, including fulfillment, hedge, capital, and liquidity costs.
  • Produce and interpret core profitability metrics such as Net Present Value(NPV), Return on Assets, Return on Equity, and capital utilization and allocation measures.
  • Partner with Mortgage Capital Markets, Secondary Marketing, and business teams to support securitization, capital markets, collateral analytics, portfolio optimization, and future Home Equity execution strategies.
  • Assess the margin impact of rate volatility and optimize execution selection based on pricing, market conditions, and portfolio objectives.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis across interest-rate shocks, CPR, pull-through, and spread assumptions, including the interaction between pricing, volume, fallout, and margin.
  • Develop forecasts, reporting, dashboards, and analytical insights for senior leadership, translating complex findings into clear business recommendations.
  • Partner across Finance, Risk, Treasury, Mortgage Capital Markets, and Business teams on portfolio optimization, profitability enhancement, and other strategic initiatives
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in Portfolio Analytics, Financial Analytics, Mortgage Finance, Consumer Lending, Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Secondary Marketing, securitization, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting securitization, structured finance, capital markets, or secondary marketing initiatives, including cash flow analysis, collateral analytics, valuation, and execution economics.
  • Comprehensive understanding of portfolio valuation, cash flow analytics, forecasting, securitization structures, capital markets activities, and secondary market execution. Experience with MBS, RMBS, ABS, home equity loans, or HELOC products is preferred.
  • Relevant experience performing cash flow analytics, portfolio analytics, profitability analysis, forecasting, scenario analysis, business performance measurement, and mortgage-related modeling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of pull-through, fallout, prepayment, pipeline, and loan-level performance drivers, with the ability to translate assumptions into profitability, capital utilization, valuation impacts, and broader business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate mortgage portfolios, identify profitability and risk drivers, assess valuation impacts, and deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior leaders and business partners.
  • Experience developing and maintaining analytical models, dashboards, and reporting solutions that support mortgage valuation, profitability measurement, capital markets activities, portfolio monitoring, forecasting, and executive decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, SAS, Power BI, and Tableau to extract, analyze, model, visualize, and communicate complex mortgage, capital markets, and financial data.
  • Experience working with large, complex financial datasets and partnering across risk, finance, capital markets, servicing, and business teams to drive analytical solutions and business performance.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions in a highly collaborative environment.
