Job Description SummaryProcess Engineering position associated with the manufacturing processes of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) parts for aircraft engines in a production environment. Will focus on improvements and shop floor support for a product line in an assigned area. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role will have autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform related tasks for Tollgate, MRL & PRR NPI development.
  • Plan, support and execute APQP requirements
  • Create, propose & control cost (budgets)
  • Define and control production processes including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment during trials, etc
  • Improve all aspects of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost
  • Lead improvements from concept to completion & assure sustainment
  • Drive & lead/cycle time improvements
  • Lead & support Low Rate and Full Rate Production
  • Design & implement necessary equipment, tooling & fixtures for manufacturing development and process improvements
  • Create, maintain & adhere to schedules to achieve business metrics/targets
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline
  • Participate & Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action activity related to concerns that arise during the manufacturing process
  • Listen to the voice on the floor, understand the problem and implement effective countermeasures & assure sustainability
  • DFM proposals to Design Engineering with supporting data, proposing solutions and see implemented
  • Manage projects related to manufacturing process enhancement
  • Hands on problem solving & investigation
  • Continuous improvement mind set
  • Work closely with shop floor personnel
  • Use judgment and ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of manufacturing engineering experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining/programming experience with Production Processes and Equipment
