We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas or take over sponsorship at this time. #BI-Hybrid #LI-Hybrid

About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and relationship-driven Lending Operations Lead to serve as the critical bridge between our sales team and our network of external lending partners. As we expand our Go-To-Market strategy to better serve US-based small businesses that may not fit our core products, you will manage the end-to-end operational flow of our lending marketplace.

Your mission is to ensure every loan application is complete, accurately matched to the best external partner, and processed with maximum speed and efficiency to lower our CAC and provide a seamless experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Loan Processing & Submission Management:
    • File Verification & Quality Control: Perform meticulous "desk reviews" of loan applications to ensure all documentation (bank statements, tax returns, credit reports, etc.) is complete and meets specific partner "buy box" requirements.
    • Intelligent Lender Matching: Act as a subject matter expert on the credit policies of 8–10 external lending partners, routing files to the lender most likely to fund the specific SMB profile.
    • Partner Submission & Liaison: Manage the formal submission process and serve as the primary point of contact for external underwriting teams, resolving issues to drive loans toward approval.
    • Pipeline Management: Track files through the sales cycle, providing real-time updates to internal teams and identifying bottlenecks to maintain high pull-through rates.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Knowledge Management:
    • Lender Requirement Advocacy: Translate complex lender criteria into clear internal "buy boxes" and training materials for Sales and Product teams.
    • Standardized Knowledge Hub: Maintain a real-time "Lender Playbook" and repository (within Salesforce or a shared workspace) to ensure internal teams have access to current guidelines, pricing, and protocols.
    • Market Insight Briefings: Lead regular "Marketplace Rhythms" to update stakeholders on partner performance, submission quality trends, and shifts in the competitive landscape.
  • Strategic Analysis & Trend Identification:
    • Trend Identification & Reporting: Monitor and report on shifts in external lender behavior, such as changes in interest rates, credit appetite, or new alternative data requirements (e.g., shifts toward real-time cash flow or digital adoption metrics).
    • Feedback Loop Management: Analyze data from rejected files to identify underserved SMB segments, providing insights to the Product team to influence future partnership scouting and product development.
    • Standardized Knowledge Hub: Maintain a centralized, real-time "Lender Playbook" within Salesforce or a shared workspace (like Miro or a modern Intranet), ensuring all internal teams have access to up-to-date partnership intelligence.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial or consumer loan processing, documentation, or underwriting practices.
  • Ability to evaluate balance sheets, income statements, and tax returns to assess the financial health and eligibility of an SMB.
  • High comfort level with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), CRM platforms (Salesforce), and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data entry and tracking.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on accuracy in data verification and file integrity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to advocate for files with partner underwriters and collaborate with high-energy sales teams.
  • Proven ability to learn new credit policies quickly and adapt to changing partner requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

The budgeted annual salary range for this position is $85,000 to $130,000. Actual annual salary will be determined based on qualifications, skills, experience, and level assessed during the hiring process and may fall outside of the range shown. Additional compensation for this role may include a bonus and restricted stock units. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in Company benefits, described in more detail here.
