Title: Lead IT Project Manager, Data Engineering
Location: Bothell, WA (Onsite)
We are seeking a results-driven Lead IT Project Manager with Data Engineering experience to lead complex, cross-functional technology initiatives that power data-driven transformation across the organization. In this role, you will manage the full project lifecycle while partnering with engineering, business, and leadership teams to deliver scalable data solutions on time, within scope, and within budget.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic project leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and brings a strong understanding of data engineering, enterprise systems, and stakeholder management. You will play a critical role in driving execution across initiatives involving data platforms, integrations, migrations, reporting, and modern technology programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project delivery from initiation and planning through execution, deployment, and closure.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and milestone tracking.
- Partner with data engineers, architects, analysts, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact technology solutions.
- Manage projects related to data engineering initiatives, including data platform implementations, data pipeline modernization, integrations, data migrations, cloud transformations, and enterprise application support.
- Drive project governance by managing scope, risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, and change requests.
- Facilitate project meetings, steering committee reviews, and stakeholder updates with clear communication on progress, blockers, and decisions needed.
- Monitor project performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to keep initiatives on track.
- Prepare and maintain core project documentation, including project charters, financial forecasts, status reports, executive presentations, deployment plans, and closeout documentation.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives, technical requirements, and delivery plans.
- Support strategic IT and data transformation programs by enabling strong collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
- Promote effective communication, accountability, and transparency across all levels of the organization.
- Help drive successful delivery of scalable, reliable, and business-focused data solutions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager leading complex technology initiatives in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience managing projects involving data engineering, such as data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, data integration, cloud data platforms, data migration, or analytics ecosystems.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices across the full project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to manage scope, budget, schedule, resources, risks, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the confidence to make decisions and drive resolution.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams that include technical resources, vendors, business stakeholders, and leadership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading IT projects involving software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, enterprise applications, or data modernization programs.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models is highly valued.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- PMP, Scrum, or related project management certification is a plus.
The base salary for this position is $92,250 - $135,000 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays and paid learning days.
