We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our Vega software development team in Belgrade. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth, stability, and continuous improvement of our application.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
Minimum 6 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 4 years of Java backend experience and 3 years of frontend experience using Angular or React. and minimum 1 year of experience working with AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB) and infrastructure as code
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
Proficiency in English
It would be great if you also have…
Experience working with PostgreSQL (or equivalent relational databases), ORM tools (Hibernate, Prisma, or similar), and writing efficient queries.
Experience designing and consuming REST APIs in a microservices architecture.
Experience with Git, code review, and CI/CD in a team environment.
Experience writing unit, integration, and automated UI tests (JUnit, Jest, Cypress, or equivalent).
What will you be doing in this role?
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards.
Review other code to ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Define architecture of software solution.
Implements software for specifications of high complexity for limited scale systems, or medium to high complexity for large-scale systems.
Responds to direct or indirect customer inquiries regarding function and design and attends customer meetings.
Writes application technical documentation.
Participates as a team member on various engineering projects.

About the Team
You will be joining agile team of 10 developers, and work alongside other developers and QA engineers already in Belgrade as well as in USA.
Hours of Work
This is a permanent, full-time position, with core engagement hours within CET time zone. This is a hybrid position; you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
