The Lead Full Stack Engineer plays a critical role in enabling high quality digital measurement and analytics across Humana’s digital ecosystem. This role is embedded within the Digital Data Capture & Democratization organization and focuses on the technical implementation of digital metrics, data structures, and supporting systems that allow the enterprise to measure, understand, and optimize digital experiences.
The Lead Full Stack Engineer is expected to lead and design reliable, scalable solutions—spanning frontend instrumentation, backend services, APIs, and data stores—while serving as a technical advisor to analytics, product, and engineering partners.
The Lead Full Stack Engineer is part of the Digital Data Capture & Democratization team, which provides reporting and analysis for Humana’s digital properties serving prospects, members, providers, employers, and agents/brokers. The team works cross‑functionally with partners across the enterprise, including digital marketing, product management, user experience, experimentation, and platform engineering.
This role takes the lead on complex digital metrics initiatives that require hands‑on technical implementation, including new data capture, new data structures, and new system integrations, while also helping shape the technical direction of how digital measurement is implemented and maintained.
Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Metrics & Data Implementation- Lead digital metrics projects that require technical implementation, including establishing new data capture patterns, data structures, and data feeds across digital platforms
- Partner with analytics and business stakeholders to translate measurement requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Develop a deep understanding of Humana’s digital data, including its structure, limitations, and nuances, and apply that knowledge to implementation decisions
- Provide guidance on data architecture and structure to ensure reporting can be delivered accurately, efficiently, and consistently
- Implement and maintain frontend instrumentation and supporting application logic to ensure reliable and consistent data collection
- Work with databases and data stores to design schemas and access patterns aligned with reporting and analytics needs
- Apply engineering best practices to ensure implementations are maintainable, testable, and performant
- Lead technical problem‑solving efforts, asking the right questions to understand the underlying measurement or data need before proposing solutions
- Balance multiple priorities and initiatives, ensuring high‑quality execution in a fast‑paced environment

Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of database architectures and data modeling, with the ability to recommend data structures that support analytics and reporting needs
- Experience working with large datasets and connecting reporting requirements to underlying technical implementations
- Working knowledge of full stack development concepts, including frontend, backend, and data layers
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a focus on accuracy
- Ability to work independently, pick up initiatives with minimal supervision, and operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience implementing digital analytics platforms and tag management systems (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Tealium)
- Familiarity with scripting or general‑purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Kotlin, or similar)
- Experience designing or supporting data pipelines, data feeds, or analytics‑oriented services
- Experience working in large, matrixed organizations
- Background in healthcare, wellness, or other regulated industries
