Job Summary
The Electrical Design Engineer II supports the design, development, testing, and implementation of electrical and electronic systems, products, and assemblies. Working under the supervision of senior engineers, this role assists in electrical design activities, prototype development, testing, documentation, and product improvements while developing technical expertise and engineering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, circuits, and electronic assemblies.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Support component selection and electrical calculations for new designs.
- Assist with prototype assembly, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
- Conduct laboratory testing using electrical measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
- Analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
- Support engineering change orders (ECOs), design updates, and product improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to support project objectives.
- Ensure designs comply with customer requirements, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), design files, and project documentation.
- Support product introduction activities and manufacturing issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in electrical design, product development, or manufacturing support.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and circuit design.
- Familiarity with electrical CAD and schematic capture tools.
- Knowledge of electrical testing methods and laboratory equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, or project experience related to electrical design or electronics.
- Exposure to PCB design and layout tools.
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI concepts and testing practices.
- Experience with embedded systems or microcontrollers is an advantage.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in embedded firmware development with at least 2 years in a lead or senior technical role.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
- Extensive experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex‑M, PIC, AVR) and RTOS.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi.
- Experience with hardware‑software integration and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers) and embedded development environments.
- Solid understanding of embedded system architecture, memory management, and power management techniques.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
