The Oracle PL/SQL Developer role is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions that support business and product requirements. This role requires deep expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, strong analytical capability, and the ability to translate complex functional requirements into scalable technical solutions. The individual will work closely with stakeholders and clients to understand requirements, prepare technical and functional specifications, and deliver high-quality solutions within planned timelines. Experience in the insurance domain will be an added advantage, along with openness to learning Majesco product functionality and related tools such as Dev Studio.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex SQL and PL/SQL programs, including stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, and materialized views
- Work extensively on advanced PL/SQL programming concepts such as bulk handling, pipelined functions, analytical queries, collections, object types, and ref cursors
- Analyze complex requirements and break them down into structured technical solutions and delivery plans
- Perform performance tuning, profiling, and monitoring of slow-performing SQL queries and database programs
- Prepare technical and functional specification documents based on business and system requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to gather, clarify, and refine requirements
- Participate in code reviews, unit test plan reviews, and other quality review processes to ensure robust and reliable delivery
- Identify, track, and escalate issues that may impact development, testing progress, or delivery timelines
- Contribute to design and implementation activities with a strong focus on functionality development
- Continuously build understanding of Majesco product functionality and related development frameworks, including Dev Studio
- Strong experience in Oracle Database with advanced SQL and PL/SQL knowledge
- Expertise in developing complex SQL queries and PL/SQL-based database components
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning and optimization of SQL and PL/SQL code
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, especially in data analysis and understanding functional code
- Experience in functionality development, design, and implementation
- Ability to prepare technical and functional specifications from business requirements
- Experience in client communication for requirement gathering and clarification
- Insurance domain experience will be a significant advantage
