Your Role:
Shall engage with the Sales/Business development teams to interface with Customers for generating enquiries by providing technical expertise.
Shall provide technical work scope for Steam Turbine Enquiries on Services/Overhauls, Parts, Repairs and retrofits, participate in costing with Tendering teams and also Customers to resolve pre-bid queries when applicable.
Shall guide measurement teams for capture of data at site during Overhauls/Re-engineering campaigns and oversee the conversion to detailed drawings for purpose of Retrofit/in kind replacement.
Shall participate in the team for executing the Customer Orders for Outage execution, execution of spares procurement/Repairs and execution of retrofits.
Shall resolve queries on a daily basis – queries arising through Tendering/Field Service/Suppliers on dispositioning of Engineering requests on Steam turbine issues.
Shall be directly responsible for mechanical component engineering, drawing preparations through Catia V5, Inspection and Test Plans and other engineering documentation for the purpose of executing repair/retrofit projects.
Shall be directly responsible for preparing Technical reports, Engineering Audit reports, Final execution reports/presentations.
Shall participate in Design reviews with Engineering Discipline leaders/Controlled Title Holders to brainstorm and propose mitigation measures to minimize risks during execution.
Shall follow the Safety-> Quality-> Delivery -> Cost principle for all the above deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Mechanical Component Basic design knowledge
About 8+ years’ experience on Large Steam Turbines
Operating knowledge on Catia V5 – Drafting and modeling.
Knowledge of reverse engineering techniques and Component Measurement.
Willing ness to travel extensively – travel includes site and office travel.
Strong communication skills
Good in writing technical reports.
Desired Characteristics
A Postgraduate in Engineering.
Prior experience on Design of mechanical components for Upgrade Projects.
Inspection/Quality control of Steam Turbine components.
