Serve as team lead for a high-caliber software engineering team, providing technical leadership throughout the design and delivery process, motivating engineers to develop simple, pragmatic solutions to complex problems.

What you will do:

  • Lead a fast-paced, autonomous, agile team of software engineers to build and enhance a
    growing software platform.
  • Lead the data platform team in scaling our capabilities.
  • Ensure the team follows and builds upon software engineering best practices, including
    testing, quality and security.
  • Direct daily operations of software engineering team, assigning projects, analyzing
    workflow and establishing priorities.
  • Enable the team to further its impact by improving its means of delivery and working
    closely with the data, product, and growth organizations to further the value we bring to
    our customers.
  • Coordinate and consult with data, product and growth teams to ensure product and client
    needs are met.
  • Help hire new talent - help with sourcing and selling candidates as well as vetting them
    for the team.
  • Create transparency into delivery health through meaningful sprint and business metrics
    with management.

Your background & requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely-related IT field plus 5 years’ experience in progressively responsible software engineering role.
Must have the following experience (can be gained concurrently with above experience):

4 years’ experience in:

  • Building applications and APIs using Python or Java.
  • Leading the development of data products.
  • Building highly scalable ETL pipelines using Spark and SQL.
  • Developing business intelligence solutions using tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Building a data platform using AWS (S3, Glue), Kafka, Airflow, dbt, and EMR.
  • Deploying CI/CD, such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

3 years’ experience in building solutions in healthcare using HL7, FHIR, and CCDA standards.
2 years’ experience in:

  • Supporting machine learning workloads, using AWS Sagemaker.
  • Building infrastructure as code using Terraform.

This position is Hybrid, requiring 2 days/week working from our Boston, MA office.

The salary for this position is $223,600 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and internal alignment.
