Job Description

The Team 

Pricing and Performance is a large team and is responsible for solving some of the most exciting and challenging problems for SEEK. You will join a team of 40 data scientist, engineers, and product managers working across three problems spaces. This role is within the Pricing space. 

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to join the Pricing and Performance team to run the engineering side of the Pricing sub-team. It offers the opportunity to work in the high profile variable pricing space, work with a range of stakeholders, and evolve the AI/ML aspects of the pricing system.

This will be a exciting role that incorporates:

• System architecture – design the systems that meet your team's remit
• Technical leadership – ensure that the systems being built meet SEEKs high standards
• Delivery management – foster a culture of rapid delivery and ensure the team stays aligned to agreed roadmaps and timelines
• People management – grow the engineers in your team
• Cross functional team building – play a part in building a high performing team of engineers, data scientists and product managers
• Stakeholder management – work with your peers from data science and product management, as well as stakeholders from across the business, to contribute to product evolution and other key decisions

Qualifications

Ideal candidate experience: 

Programming and Technical Skills: 

• Python 
• Data Pipelines 
• SQL 
• Spark/Databricks 
• AWS 
• Java 
• Backend development 
• ML and ETL Pipelines 
• CI/CD and DevOps 

Leadership and Team Management: 

• Experience leading a team 
• Stakeholder management 
• Largely hands-on role (70% technical, 30% leadership) 
• Quarterly OKR and 12 month roadmap planning 

Relevant Background: 

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on data engineering or machine learning
