We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Embedded Engineer with 8–13 years of experience in designing and developing robust embedded systems for mission-critical products. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Embedded C and hardware design, along with extensive experience in firmware architecture, debugging, and leading engineering teams. You will play a pivotal role in driving product development from concept to production while collaborating closely with hardware, software, QA, and manufacturing teams.
As a technical leader, you will define embedded software architecture, establish engineering best practices, mentor developers, and ensure the delivery of reliable, high-performance embedded solutions. This role demands a hands-on engineering mindset combined with excellent leadership and problem-solving abilities.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of embedded firmware for microcontroller- and processor-based systems.
- Architect scalable, modular, and efficient embedded software using Embedded C.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers during schematic design, board bring-up, and hardware validation.
- Develop low-level device drivers, bootloaders, and communication interfaces.
- Perform hardware-software integration, system debugging, and root cause analysis.
- Review schematics, datasheets, and PCB layouts to ensure firmware compatibility and optimal system performance.
- Optimize firmware for memory utilization, power consumption, and real-time responsiveness.
- Lead code reviews, establish coding standards, and ensure compliance with quality and safety guidelines.
- Troubleshoot complex field issues and provide timely technical resolutions.
- Mentor junior and senior engineers through technical guidance and design reviews.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and technical roadmaps.
- Participate in product validation, manufacturing support, and production release activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and development procedures.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
- 8–13 years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development.
- Proven experience leading embedded engineering teams and delivering commercial products.
- Strong understanding of embedded software development lifecycle and product development processes.
- Expert-level proficiency in Embedded C programming.
- Strong understanding of hardware architecture, digital electronics, and microcontroller-based systems.
- Experience with ARM Cortex, STM32, NXP, TI, Microchip, or similar microcontroller platforms.
- Strong knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and interrupt handling.
- Expertise in firmware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, SWD, and hardware debuggers.
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up, hardware validation, and firmware-hardware integration.
- Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience working with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, ThreadX, Zephyr, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux and device driver development.
- Knowledge of wireless technologies including Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, or LoRa.
- Exposure to secure boot, firmware-over-the-air (FOTA), and cybersecurity practices.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python for automation and testing.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, product certification, and reliability testing.
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and technical leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality solutions within deadlines.
