At Elekta, we believe every individual deserves access to the best cancer care. That’s why we’re committed to developing innovative solutions that make precision radiation therapy and radiosurgery more effective, efficient, and accessible. If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact, we invite you to bring your expertise and energy to our team.

What You’ll Do At Elekta:

As a Lead Electronics Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership for FPGA-based electronic hardware and PCBA design within our medical linear accelerators.

You’ll take ownership of digital hardware solutions throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through design, integration, verification, release and ongoing product support. Combining FPGA expertise with analogue and digital electronics knowledge, you’ll help ensure our electronic systems deliver reliable performance while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of FPGA-based electronics and associated PCBAs, including FPGA architecture, HDL development, schematic design and component selection.
  • Own signal and power integrity across high-speed, clocking, power distribution and mixed-signal designs, using analysis, simulation and testing to validate performance.
  • Plan and carry out FPGA and board-level verification, including simulation, timing analysis, bench testing, fault investigation and documenting results against requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, technical decision-making and problem solving, while supporting and coaching other engineers.
  • Work across systems, software, mechanical engineering, test, manufacturing, service, quality and suppliers to deliver designs that consider safety, EMC, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability and component lifecycle.

What You’ll Bring:

We’re looking for someone with experience in FPGA and electronic hardware development who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and collaborating across different engineering disciplines.

  • Experience in FPGA design using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog, including simulation, constraints, timing closure and on-chip debug.
  • Practical experience in analogue and digital PCBA design, including schematics, component selection and PCB layout review.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity within complex electronic hardware.
  • Experience integrating and verifying FPGA-based PCBAs through the product development lifecycle.
  • An understanding of areas such as EMC, safety, reliability, manufacturability and component lifecycle. Experience within regulated, safety-critical or high-reliability product development would be beneficial.

What You’ll Get:
In this role, you will work for a higher purpose; hope for everyone dealing with cancer, and for everyone regardless of where in the world, to have access to the best cancer care. In addition to this, Elekta offers a range of benefits.

  • Work Pattern (you are required to work from the Crawley HQ 4 days a week with 1-day WFH)
  • Up to 25 paid vacation days (plus bank holidays)
