Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the regionalization and new product development of centrifugal compressors, leading structural design & component development, to deliver optimized design solutions with optimal performance, best cost, highest reliability and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

1.Mechanical Structure Design

  • Responsible for structural design and development of centrifugal compressors including regionalization and NPD programs.
  • Perform structural analysis including stress, vibration, and thermal deformation for risk assessment.
  • Drive design optimization to achieve improved performance, reduced cost, high reliability and manufacturability.
  • Lead technical standardization and continuous improvement of design guidelines
  • Research and drive patentable design trends to maximize product value, optimize cost, and enhance compressor performance.

2.Components Qualification

  • Conduct component development, verification, and technical issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Identify & mitigate potential risks by using DFMEA, simulation tools and functional tests.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and mitigate manufacturing risk by adopting the PFMEA tool.

3. New Product Development

  • Lead technical reviews and prepare associated documentation.
  • Interact with functional teams to ensure the design checklist and guidelines have been followed and meet program schedule.
  • Release BOM, part drawing and engineering specification by following engineering change process.

4.Maintain product and support improvement

  • Work with global engineering team for global product regionalization.
  • Provide technical solutions for continuous maintenance and improvement after product launch.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or other related areas
  • More than 7 years (BS) or 4 years (MS) working experience in centrifugal compressors or turbomachinery.

Requirements and Attributes:

  • Proven technical knowledge on centrifugal compressor structure and design principles.
  • Strong Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling tools with solid knowledge of GD&T.
  • Familiarity with digital simulation tools.
  • Familiar with FMEA methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of Rotor dynamic & Aero dynamic is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong sense of ownership, cost awareness, and engineering mindset.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work across teams.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
