IDEXX Data and AI Centre of Excellence develops and delivers data and AI assets and solutions to enhance IDEXX R&D, products, software, services, internal operations, and business practices.

In this role:

  • You will lead a team of 3-4 computer vision data scientists, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical expertise to drive project success and career development.

  • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, clinical experts, product management, and business stakeholders, to define and prioritize computer vision initiatives aligned with business objectives.

  • You will develop and implement strategies to enhance the team's capabilities in computer vision, deep learning, and related technologies, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation.

  • You will drive the research, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art computer vision algorithms and techniques to solve complex problems and deliver impactful solutions.

  • You will lead by example by contributing hands-on to projects, including coding, model development, experimentation, and validation.

  • You will establish best practices, standards, and processes for computer vision projects to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency.

  • You will stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in computer vision, machine learning, and related fields and incorporate relevant technologies and methodologies into the team's work.

What you need to succeed:

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • You have proven experience leading and managing teams of data scientists with a focus on computer vision.

  • You are proficient in Python programming and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch.

  • You have demonstrated expertise in designing, training, and deploying convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for various computer vision tasks.

  • You have experience developing machine learning computer vision solutions for embedded devices and NVIDIA GPUs.

  • You have a track record of successfully delivering vision projects from ideation to deployment in a production environment.

  • You have experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, for data processing, storage, and deployment.

  • Your experience using Databricks for scalable data engineering and machine learning workflows will be a plus.

  • You have strong communication skills and can effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • You have strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for tackling complex technical challenges in computer vision.

  • Your familiarity with microscopy, digital cytology, or digital pathology will serve you a great advantage.

  • Your experience using Databricks will be a plus.
