Job Description
Role Summary
The General Manager, South Korea will take the lead role in managing the LOC P&L and delivering on the tremendous opportunity for transformative healthcare that South Korea represents. He/she will be the steward of Takeda's culture, values and the ethos of serving patients and building trust, reputation and business in South Korea.
In alignment with Area, Region and Global priorities, the General Manager, South Korea will drive sustainable growth of our business through various initiatives, including the launch of new innovative medicines and vaccines.
This role requires strong leadership and positive engagement with the external health environment to benefit patients living with rare and complex diseases and improve treatment paradigms, while leading the team to think creatively in order to challenge convention and bring agility and innovation to our strategies and operating models.
The position holder will report directly to Takeda's Area Head, TAS.
Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement country strategic and annual business plans and ensure that the company meets business objectives.
  • Ensure alignment on budget and brand strategy with global and region.
  • Lead KPI and goal setting with functional departments.
  • Develop and foster a best-in-class organization and culture of innovation to ensure sustained, optimal business performance.
  • Apply digitalization to drive execution excellence, in capability management, communication and synergy across the organization.
  • Successfully launch and commercialize Takeda pipeline, including stakeholder engagement, market access and platform development.
  • Achieve sustainable access by entering and shaping reimbursement opportunities for our specialty and rare disease medicines.
  • Direct government affairs, and CSR activities to foster a positive image and productive relationships and partnerships with governments, industry associations and society.
  • Ensure all pharmaceutical products are manufactured / repackaged in accordance with the quality standards and specifications of the company and appropriate government bodies.
  • Establish and maintain clear reporting and control systems to ensure compliance to country regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Coordinate local governance and alignment of legal entity matters.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading commercial operations or key functions, with a forward-looking perspective.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing activity plan and resources allocation to support Country-level initiatives (patient finding, advocacy, services, CSR, etc.) and launches.
  • Track record in owning and improving relationships with key stakeholders and customers, such as national or regional government health agencies, key payers, unions.
  • Attracts, leads, develops, motivates and retains a diverse team and build a best-in-class organization to ensure optimal business performance

  • Proven ability to lead and grow a P&L with a pipeline of innovative medicines in complex country markets with wide-ranging healthcare infrastructure.
  • Develops robust strategies and drive necessary changes for a large country organization to lead in innovative care markets (e.g., NRDL/PRDL portfolio strategies)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent knowledge experience, MBA preferred
  • Successful experience in similar management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading commercial operations or key functions, with a forward-looking perspective, flexible and adaptable to the local market
  • Previous general management experience min 2 years or 7-10 years BU Head experience in a similar business size multinational company.
  • >2 years of standard-setting performance in this role or a comparable role (optional)
