As a Pipe Systems Tendering Engineer, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to design technical solutions for proposal to global customers on major projects.

You will be responsible for owning the design engineering in our tendering process for subsea flexible pipe systems. As part of our team you will design solutions, perform detailed engineering assessments and facilitate the input of other disciplines to build successful system proposals. Our tendering team is a rounded engineering function, with significant requirement for strong communication and task ownership to deliver for our customers. This includes engagement with customers on pre-contract requirements and engineering strategy. You will provide technical design support throughout all stages of the project tendering process from early concept evaluation to full tender proposal as part of a motivated and supportive engineering team. The role offers an opportunity to learn about the products and services of a global business whilst developing your engineering skillset as part of our diverse technical business.

As Pipe Systems Tendering Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Use of sound engineering practice to develop pipe systems design to customer specification.

  • Technical focal point for tendering process, owning the technical solution and inputs to risk mitigation as well as facilitating engineering process.

  • Providing technical support throughout all stages of project tendering process from early concept to full tender proposal.

  • Performing engineering calculation, using company software tools and design guidelines, to develop and verify design of pipe structure and associated ancillary items.

  • Facilitating engineering output from other departments and sub-suppliers as required to develop quality output.

  • Communicating on aspects of the technical proposal to internal and external stakeholders, acting as company representative

  • Providing technical expertise to and working closely with the commercial and sales teams.

  • Staying commercially aware; possessing an understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value to aid strategy.

  • Contribute to improvement of process and tools, including product development and cost-out.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering
  • Looking for experienced resources in Tendering (preferred)
  • Experience in System design, design calculation or Mechanical Design could also be considered
  • Experience in Project Engineering would be an added advantage
  • Experience in offshore industry would be beneficial
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously, effectively managing time, output and risk.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.
  • Be a team player, contributes to a close engineering team dynamic.
