About the Role

Solstice is seeking an experienced Privacy attorney to join our Legal Department and support our global privacy program. This role will report directly to the Chief Privacy Officer and play a critical part in advising the business on data protection matters, strengthening privacy governance, and ensuring compliance across a complex, matrixed global organization.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in data privacy law, hands‑on experience working with both EU and U.S. privacy regimes, and the ability to partner effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders in a fast‑moving, international environment.

As Lead Counsel, Privacy here at Solstice, you will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and support to the organization. You will provide leadership, direction, and consultation to the business for the privacy function, driving consistent policies and processes in support of global business objectives and contributing to the organization's achievement of goals and objectives while satisfying its customers.

You will report directly to our Chief Privacy Officer, and you will work out of our Dublin, Ireland location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will help design and implement a global privacy program for Solstice that ensures compliance and mitigates risk while helping to support the Company's growth and business interests. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in collaborating with internal stakeholders around the globe to ensure legal compliance and support business objectives. Your strong legal acumen and ability to navigate complex issues in a matrixed environment will be essential in driving the success of the organization.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders to help design and implement a fit-for-purpose and right-sized privacy program for this newly formed, global, public company
  • Support the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of a global privacy governance program
  • Advise on data processing activities, privacy‑by‑design initiatives, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), international data transfers, and vendor engagements
  • Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Security, Product, HR, and other business teams across regions
  • Monitor and interpret developments in global privacy laws and regulations and assess their impact on Solstice’s business
  • Assist with regulatory inquiries, audits, and incident response relating to data protection matters
  • Contribute to internal policies, training, and awareness programs related to data privacy and data protection
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • 6+ years of experience practicing law
  • Strong working knowledge of GDPR and U.S. privacy laws (e.g., state privacy laws and sector‑specific requirements)
  • Demonstrated experience advising on privacy matters in a commercial, business‑oriented context
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global, cross‑functional team
  • Commitment to ethical conduct and professional integrity
