Our work balances analytical precision with creative experimentation turning insights into actions that drive sustainable profitability.

Your Journey starts here!

Shape the commercial decisions that drive performance across CarTrawler’s global Trading function. This is a high-impact analytical leadership role where you’ll partner with senior stakeholders to turn complex commercial data into clear, actionable insight that influences strategy at Leadership Team and Board level. Working across markets, partners and Trading Squads, you’ll own the performance narrative, identify opportunities for growth and help raise the standard of analytical excellence across the business. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercially driven environments and enjoy connecting data to decision-making, this is your opportunity to make a measurable impact at scale.

What you'll do as a Principal Commercial Analyst

  • Lead macro-level commercial analysis across markets, partners and performance drivers to identify opportunities, risks and growth trends.
  • Own and evolve executive-level reporting, including weekly and monthly Trading updates for Leadership Team and Board audiences.
  • Translate complex data into clear, commercially focused recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner closely with Heads of Trading and Revenue leadership to challenge assumptions, shape priorities and drive accountability for results.
  • Develop scalable analytical frameworks, reporting standards and best practices that improve consistency and quality across Trading Squads.
  • Mentor and support the wider Commercial Analyst community, helping to elevate analytical capability and commercial thinking across the function.
  • Contribute to the development and performance growth of the analyst community, including dotted-line responsibility for 3 to 6 Commercial Analysts through coaching, feedback and input into performance reviews.

What you'll bring to the team

  • Strong experience in commercial analytics, strategy consulting, commercial finance or performance-focused analytical roles within fast-paced digital or eCommerce environments.
  • A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Engineering or a related analytical discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA, or a postgraduate qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics or a related field would be highly valued.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex issues into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience interpreting revenue, margin and performance drivers to influence business outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with confidence presenting insights to senior stakeholders and executive audiences.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in collaborative, high-growth environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • A proactive and curious mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, analytical excellence and driving measurable impact.
