Role Value Proposition:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Engineer to join our team and take ownership of designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure cloud services, Terraform, and Azure DevOps or GitHub, and will play a pivotal role in driving DevSecOps practices and the evolution of cloud-native capabilities across the enterprise. This role will lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborate with engineering and operations teams, and ensure high performance, security, and cost efficiency in our Azure environments.
The MetLife Cloud Engineering & Enablement team provides a consistent, reliable, and scalable platform for developers to build and deploy applications. We focus on enterprise-level cloud enablement through the use of automation and infrastructure-as-code tooling, helping to increase agility, reduce costs, and improve security.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement cloud-native infrastructure solutions using best practices.
• Lead DevSecOps initiatives and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure cloud platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
• Ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
• Drive automation and infrastructure as code practices using tools like Terraform.
• Monitor system performance and implement observability solutions.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and trends.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:

• Expertise in the Azure cloud platform.
• 7+ years in cloud engineering or DevOps roles.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and serverless architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevSecOps practices.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of AWS & GCP cloud is a plus.
• 2+ years in technical leadership capacity.
• Professional certifications (e.g., Azure Professional AZ900/AZ400, Networking, Terraform Associate).
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management and business alignment.

The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
