Lead Cloud Engineer - Mexico

What success looks like in this role:

Mandatory Skills

• Breadth of experience in DevOps space and deep expertise & knowledge on implementing CI (Continuous Integration) and CD (Continuous Deployment) methodologies with Jenkins, Bitbucket, Dockers, Kubernetes, HELM for Micro Services.
• Familiar with cloud migration tools such as AWS Migration Hub, CloudEndure, etc. and understand how to use them to migrate workloads to AWS. know how to design and implement migration strategies and plans.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible, which enable you to automate the deployment and management of cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and routing. Designing and implementing of network architecture on AWS that meets application requirements.
• AWS Services: A deep understanding of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Fargate, API Gateway, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and more.
• Familiar with Packer to create replicas of Images, Hashicorp-Vault-CLI, grasp on programming fundamentals and can whip up a script/ program in Bash/ Groovy /Python as required.
• Understanding of AWS security best practices, IAM, KMS, encryption, and security groups.
• Knowledge of AWS database services like RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB to provision, monitor, and scale databases.
• Strong technical skills in areas such as software development, system administration, cloud computing, and automation.
• Manage the lifecycle of CloudFormation stacks, including updating, deleting, and monitoring stacks and troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CloudFormation templates and deployed resources.
• Utilizing Cloud Watch to monitor resources such as EC2, Amazon RDS services, EBS volumes, to set alarms for notification or automated actions and to monitor logs for a better understanding and operation of the system.
• Plan and execute the migration of applications, data, and infrastructure to the cloud, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition.
• Evaluate existing IT infrastructure and recommend changes to optimize for cloud migration.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data protection policies.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• An in-depth understanding of AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc. and their usage patterns. Choose the appropriate service for a given use case and understand how to configure and manage them.
• Monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure performance and recommend improvements to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.
• Design and implement cloud architecture and solutions on AWS that are scalable, reliable, and secure. Understand best practices for architecture design, security, and cost optimization.
• Lead the technical decision making on configuration management, version control, build / deployment management and automation. Should have implemented Infrastructure as A Code (IAAC) concept with Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes Security, Vulnerability Scanning, Production Best Practices.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code templates using tools like CloudFormation and Terraform.
• Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are followed for all AWS resources and services.
• Monitor performance and usage of AWS resources and services and optimize as needed to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, as you will be working with cross-functional teams that include developers, DevOps engineers, project managers, and stakeholders. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and work effectively in a team environment.
• Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, features, CloudFormation, Ansible, and CI/CD and best practices, and evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain CloudFormation templates for AWS infrastructure and services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or other similar tools.
• Minimum 3 years of Experience in automation of AWS components like compute, storage, networking, database, and identity & access management (IAM), event processing, messaging, data processing, and analytics.
• Create and maintain automated tests and ensure high-quality code releases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployment, and automation, AWS services.
• Familiar with popular operating systems and databases and have experience with managing and configuring them on AWS. Optimize their performance and ensure their availability and security in a cloud environment.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) both in Spanish and English.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in cloud computing, specifically in cloud migration, architecture, and implementation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Python, PowerShell, and Terraform.
• Natural problem-solving ability, sharp reasoning and a logical bent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect.

Good to have.

• Experience of Linux/Windows Administration.
• Knowledge of web servers and load balancers such as Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, HAProxy.
• Automation of infrastructure setup, monitoring and debugging of the application, setting up and configuring code repositories and continuous integration tools, working with security teams to ensure secure operations, and improving system performance.
